Mishra Prakash & Associates (MPA) is a duly registered firm carrying on the business of legal practice. It is entitled to operate private legal practice and provide legal services all over Fiji as authorized under the Legal Practitioners Act 1997. MPA incorporated the legal practices of several successful and well-established law firms of the past and has acquired a wealth of legal skills and experience. The present law firm is the ultimate successor of prominent law firms such as Mishra & Co., Govind & Co., J R Reddy & Co. and Gates Solicitors. The merger of the above well-established firms has been a large contributing factor in the acquisition of fine legal traditions, skills and experience in the present practice of MPA. Numerous members of the above firms have been successful and prominent legal practitioners and have contributed much to the development of the law in Fiji as well as serving the country with distinction. This includes late Mr K. P. Mishra who had served as a director of South Pacific Sugar Mills Limited (now FSC) and Independent Arbitrator in industrial relations matters, Mr Justice G. Mishra who served as a Judge on the Fiji Court of Appeal, Mr Justice Jai Ram Reddy who served as a Judge and the President of the Fiji Court of Appeal, Mr Justice K. N. Govind, Mr Justice A. Gates and Mr Justice J. Singh, who are serving as Judges of the High Court of Fiji at present. Mr. Justice Govind and Mr. Anil J Singh, a present member of the firm have served as Mayors of Ba Town Council and Lami Town Council respectively. The firm currently operates its offices from three centers, namely Suva, Lautoka and Ba and is able to provide legal services all over Viti Levu. Services to other centers in Fiji is also possible although with some limitations and with the use of reliable agents. Associated firms and agents have also been established offshore to meet the needs of the client in the fast and competitive market. The firm has services of three very experienced legal practitioners with over 20 years of post admission experience. Other practitioners in the firm as well as qualified and experienced para-legal and other staff provide support.
